Insurance

Have you had a car accident, flood, fire or some other insured loss in your home or business and you are unhappy with the settlement offered by your insurance company?

Please contact the Personal Property Appraisal Group to determine if your personal property was appraised accurately.

Insurance Appraisals- there are two types of Insurance appraisals:

Pre-Loss Insurance Appraisals- this type of appraisal is most often done for classic and specialty vehicles, art, collectibles, antiques and other unique items found in your home or business. Our clients have their items appraised as part of the process to gain insurance coverage for their items. Most often, this type of appraisal will allow the insurance company and their client to come to an agreement as to the value of a particular vehicle or item before a loss occurs. If the item is lost or damaged, the insurance company and the owner of the item already know the value of the item(s). We recommend re-appraising your items every three to five years or whenever you believe that your item has increased in value and you would like correspondingly increased insurance coverage.

Post-Loss Insurance Appraisals- also called After-Loss Insurance Appraisals. This type of appraisal applies to all items. Examples include; appraising a car after it has been in an accident or has been stolen; appraising the contents of your home or business after a flood, fire, or other insured loss. The appraisers at the Personal Property Appraisal Group will inspect and evaluate your lost or damaged item(s) to help determine that you receive accurate compensation for your personal property.

Household Content

The appraisers at The Personal Property Appraisal Group are often called in to appraise household contents to help settle an estate, a divorce, bankruptcy or another type of personal or business dissolution.

Some of the items that we commonly appraise are furniture, electronics, appliances, cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, boats, equipment, machinery, tools and other household items.

This type of appraisal is also called a Motor Vehicle Appraisal Record under the Used Vehicle Information Program for the Ministry of Finance. If you have a vehicle that is likely to be valued lower that the average price of comparable vehicles, due to higher that average mileage or excessive wear, then our appraisers may help to save you money!

Insurance Appraisals- there are two common types of Insurance appraisals for vehicles:

Pre-Loss Insurance Appraisals- this type of appraisal is most often done for classic and specialty cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs and boats that are unique. Please have our company appraise your vehicle as part of the process to gain insurance coverage for your vehicle. This type of appraisal will help to secure "19A Agreed Value" insurance coverage.

"19A Agreed Value" coverage is an agreement between you and your insurance company before a loss occurs. If your vehicle is in an accident or is stolen, the insurance company and the owner of the item already know the value of the vehicle. We recommend re-appraising your vehicle every three to five years or whenever you believe that your vehicle has increased in value and you would like increased insurance coverage.

Post-Loss Insurance Appraisals- also called After-Loss Insurance Appraisals. This type of appraisal applies after your vehicle is in an accident or is stolen and you did not have "19A Agreed Value" coverage on your insurance policy. The appraisers at the Personal Property Appraisal Group will inspect and evaluate your damaged or lost vehicle to help determine that you receive adequate compensation. Our appraisers prepare professional appraisal reports and are willing and able defend them in court if requested.
